War is back

+ WAR’s first new release in 14 years will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and double CD on October 14th. The Greatest Hits Live package was recorded at a sold-out performance at The Grove in Anaheim, CA and includes their hits “Low Rider”, “Why Can’t We Be Friends” and “Cisco Kid” among others.

What is it good for? Just the most memorable hits of all time, including “Cisco Kid,” "Low Rider" and “The World is a Ghetto.” On October 14, 2008, War will release three special commemorative packages, containing their greatest hits live in concert. Distributed by Rhino Records/Warner Music Group, this Avenue Records multi-disc onslaught will include a live DVD, a Blu-Ray DVD and a double CD. These three packages mark the band’s first live releases.

Recorded at a sold-out performance at The Grove in Anaheim, California, in late December, 2007, the sets also contain a fold-out poster of the band. The legendary band War has slated their first releases in 14 years, all three titled Greatest Hits Live, definitive sets that will ensure the band’s continuing status as part of the collective consciousness of American popular culture.

Chris Rea, Let's Dance

*One *Two *Three (and a good one)

When you sing of the joy only love can bring
Heaven knows it's in my heart and my soul
Caught in a world full of tears
So many bad times and fears
So while there's a chance and you're near

Let's dance
Let's dance

There's a world far away from the one we see
There's a dream I will never let go
One thing is certainly true
This moment's for me and for you
So while there's not a thing that we can do

Let's dance
Let's dance

Sly & The Family Stone's Greatest Hits

+ You know these guys, the only thing you have to do is listen to the music. Well, in this case, dance to the music!

+ It was almost 4o years ago today. Sylvester Stewart was about to win his place in rock history, together with other hippys in San Francisco's summer of love. Oh, boy, they probably wouldn't wear flowers in the hair, but I can tell you that his and his group clothes very well reflect that sunny era. His songs also!

+ They are not very well known in Spain, but every rock connoisseur has to remember them as a wonderful surprise in The Festival of Woodstock. The band performed their set during the early-morning hours of August 17, 1969. The movie was of course seen in Spain later!

+ There was a time where Motown sound was going to be replaced by something we can call psychedelic soul. Listen to Life to know what I mean. Even The Beatles's infectious Obladi, Oblada is there!.

+ Visit and learn the history of Sly and the Family Stone.

* Listen to Life.

* Listen to Fun.

* Listen to I Want To Take You Higher.

* Listen to Stand!

* Listen to Dance to the music.

* Listen to Everyday people.

* Listen to Everybody is a star.
